Thanks for bringing the 50 Million Pound Challenge to Memphis, TN. It was great and hot as ever. I had joined prior to the 06/09/07 event and have since lost 13 pounds. I was very excited to see the man, Dr. Ian himself being very vocal and personable at the event. My friend and I shrieked when we saw him, as he smiled at us. This is a great thing to do with challenging us to live a longer healthier life. I have brought 2 friends along with me. Hope to see you again soon.

I just joined today June 20. Heard about you coming to Memphis on 103.5 FM. I am 232 and would love to get down to 190!! Breads and sweets are my problem. Heart disease and stroke ended my parents lives and I would like to control these diseases with exercise and diet now!!! I am grateful for you Dr. Ian and this wonderful program!!!

I attended the Memphis event. I joined the challenge in April, but I haven't been doing a good job with a execise routine. June 9th really motivated me, so I am recommitting myself. I need to lose 25lbs. to be at a healthy weight. Thank you Dr. Ian for your commitment to YOUR PEOPLE.

I was at the event in Memphis. I live on the TN-MS state line. I was very happy to see the response of the people. I am a healthcare provider and I know the problems that being obese can cause. Nevertheless, I am a victim of the spare tire waist, the saddle bag thighs, and the extra wide load. I was not able to see Dr. Ian because the line was too long and I couldn't stand the heat.(I was sweating like a HOG)! However I joined the challenge online and I will lose 60lbs (262 lbs now). I know that isn't my idle weight, I am 5' 10" tall. I am taking baby steps to get healthy. I am at an all time high with my weight, and my body is not responding well to it. I see so many things happening to me. My cholesterol is too high, my blood pressure is controled by medication, and my joints ache. My body is screaming for mercy. Everyday I work on changing something. I am having the most trouble with late nite eating. Good luck to everyone, and I will keep you posted.

Wow! The Challenge event in Memphis was great! Thanks for the wake up call to African Americans across the country. I was shocked to step on the scale and see that I weighed in at a whopping 190 pounds. I accept the challenge and I hope to lose 15-20 pounds by the year's end. I will encourage as many friends and family as possible to accept the challenge as well.
Thanks Dr. Ian

My biggest problem is suger, bread, and a busy schedule. I have however made a commitment at the start of the new year to make every effort to excercise..its hard and I fell off for a few weeks, I am starting back this week. Wish me luck.
