Compromise

Most people on a diet are going to reach for a dessert every once in a while.  That’s fine.  But make a smart decision when doing so.  If you plan on having a dessert while dining out, skip the appetizer and the bread basket.  It’s all about compromise.  If that sweet tooth is really aching, make the trade for something else on the menu and leave with a smile on your face. One thing you shouldn’t compromise is your health and personal well being. Make time to do the right things like exercising and preparing healthy meals.  It pays off for you and your family and friends.  It’s what The Challenge is all about! Thanks for your commitment to The Challenge.  Let’s make it a great week!

Dentists Jupiter:

Compromise is a good thing to your diet, but you will also have to remember about not going overboard. Thanks for this very nice article.

joretta long:

hey, guys. i just want everyone to know that losing weight is extremely difficult, only if you make it that way. i have lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks, and i feel absolutely great. yes, it was hard, and yes, i do cheat sometimes, but cheating is what you have to do sometimes. I started by losing 10lbs. just eating skinless chicken, lettuce, boiled egg whites, and vinegar as many times as i wanted. Now, I eat 4 meals per day, 250 cals per meal with 2 cups of water before each one. i drink only diet sodas and sugar free cranberry juice. i have chocolate every saturday and i excercise 30min. every other day. if you follow this plan, you wont lose. well, actually, you will lose unwanted pounds. you guys should try it. just dont go under 800 cals or over 1200 cals per day. that's the key. well, good luck everyone

Sashabella:

I know how hard it can be to stay clear of sweets. I have a particular weakness for chocolate, ice cream, and fruit pies. What I have now started to do is to buy those fruits I like to eat in pies and just eat them fresh. It's a great compromise when I want something sweet, and fulfills my cravings.

Evan:

I understand exactly what you mean but for me I usually just subsitute dessert with an apple or some grapes. What most people don't know is that bananas are high in startch so they aren't the best fruit to eat. But if you can't resist that temptation for something sweet get what you usually would and put half or more back because all you need is that one taste and it can tide you over for a while. Good luck on your diet everyone!

Esther:

Hey you ;-)

I understand the temptation, often I find myself faced with this same dilema, what I usually will do is order fruit, something healthy from the menu, most resturants have a dieters menu to choose from with things like frozen yogert if not, try to dine at locations that do.

In those weak moments, when I do cheat, I savory what Im eating I think about how far it may set me back, I contemplate if it is even worth it, often times I conclude that its not and I dont even finish it.

In the end I love the special attention that I give myself, I love standing on the scale each day and finding that I have lost a little, the feeling cant be replaced with cake, cookies or pies. Good luck everyone
:-)
