I had a baby 7 months ago and am trying to lose about 15 pounds. I have tried to do pilates during the week since being pregnant. I guess I was able to do it at least 2 times a week if not more. Now I have been doing cardio and weight training for about a month now and have not lost weight yet. I went back to the weight I was before I was pregnant just through breast feeding. I have stopped breastfeeding a month ago. I have not put anymore weight on, but I have not lost any. I am 125 and 5'5 and 26 years old. I would like to get back to the weight I was when I got married, which was 4 years ago, 110. Am I being unreasonable on my goal? And what am I doing wrong?

Dr. Ian please tell me what exercise will help me to lose the upper upper inner thighs, which seems a lot harder to lose than the outer thighs. Also how can a person get rid of all the dimple and cellulite effect around the inner and outer thigh area. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Dr. Ian, I've just recently signed up for this challenge and had a question. I'm trying to kick the soda habit ( coca cola is my drink of choice) and so i have started drinking the coke zero & sprite zero drinks. Is there any hidden harm calorie or sodium in these type of beverages. Any additional information would be great thanks.

I thank God for Dr.Ian Smith so much for this challenge to take place.I 32 yrs. old and never thought that I would have to lose 80lbs. I was never overweight growing up, but like many others life, stress, and dreppession showed up not in my emotions or even on the fake smile I placed upon my face, but it revealed itself on my body with ever pound I gained. I read about Dr. Ian Smith and how he watched what his mother had to go through with having diabetes type 2. I do not that to happen with my children with me.This is why I am ready to be part of this challenge and have my numbers(weight lost) posted with the rest of my brothers and sister. I am happy and proud to be part of something that will change the rest of my life and my family's. THANK YOU

I am so excited because a few months ago I tried Weight Watchers and it did not work for me. I only lost a total of 2lbs over the course of 10 weeks. I started the Extreme Fat Smash diet on 5/28 (yes the holiday), and as of today I have already lost 5lbs. Oh, and to mention that I am on Coreg and one of the side affects is weight gain. I am focused and I am in the mindset for losing. Not to mention following the meal plans are soooo easy to do.
Start Weight 5/28 188.8
As of 6/7 183.2 and counting.
Height 5 2.5

I have started walking 5 days a week on my lunch break. The first week, I lost weight. Now, it seems I have been gaining weight but, my clothes are getting looser. How can this be when I am exercising? Also, I am having a hard time trying to figure out what to eat on a daily basis. I don't think I am eating enough, although, I am not hungry.

Dr. Smith,
I take Predsinone, 5mg a day and since beginning it back in December 2006 I have gained over 40 pounds to grow to my current weight 258. I was on a diet, but that went to hell when I started the steroids; and can't seem to shake these pounds. I have severe Asthma and take an inhaled steriod as several other mediciations.
Also, I have high blood pressure and take two medications with that. I also take a Synthroid because my thyroid was removed. My doctor keeps telling me to lose the weight and I keep trying and he keeps renewing my prescription for Predsinone.
What can I do to lose this weight and exercise without bringing on an asthma attack.

Dr. Ian, for so long I had a problem with my weight. For years I've tried different diet programs and I will resort back to my same eating habits. It wasn't until I start watching celebrity fit club last year when I decided to lose weight. I had a gym membership which I really did use often until this year. I read your book "Smash the Fat" and I finally got a good foundation on what I need to do. I had to prepare myself mentally before I could start on any weight loss regime. April 20th of this year is when I really start working on correcting my eating habits and began exercising. I really what to live longer for my children. My father passed away on April 10th from colon cancer and my grandmother passed away in May from diabetes, and this is my wake up call to do something right for my health. I have lost a total of fifteen pounds so far. I keep a food journal and I workout 4 times a week. I eat whole grain foods and increased my vegetable and fruit intake. I must say that I'm starting to believe in myself more and I feel good about myself. I just want to say thank you for being there. I just signed up today for the challenge and I look forward to losing more weight and living a healthier life.

I joined today. Here's my situation, I'm a 37 yr old "big girl" who is just exiting her first trimester with her first child. I lost a considerable amount of weight before this event but still a "big girl" nonetheless. I am afraid to gain all of the weight back and then some. This wouldn't be good for me physically and unfair to my child who deserves to have a healthy mother that can chase and play with them. What is a healthy way to execute this? Suggestions please.

I want to lose a total of 100 pounds and breakfast is my problem. I read your one minute breakfasts but I don't like oatmeal or yogurt. What else is good? Is cheerios ok?

I dfo teh trendmill 35 minutes a day with inclines, weights, and resistance machines. What else can I do?
