Milestone: 150,000 pounds lost!

We have reached another milestone – 150,000 pounds lost!  The Challenge is definitely picking up momentum!

Dear Dr. Ian,
I am a 54 year old A.A. women in what I thought was great shape. However, I have gain 40 pounds in the last two years after the death of my husband,and have dveloped high blood pressure, and cholesterol medical condition.

Currently taking Pravastatin (20mg); Pantoprazole (40mg); Lisinopril (5mg) and St. Joseph (81mg) Daily. I have begin to walk 3 miles a day, but I need help in losing this weight. My main reason for starting this is, is to improve my health and to get my life back.

So would you please advice/help me to find a way to lose this weight so that I can get back to being me again!

you try to all this things and do see results that you expect, you really get discouraged and get of the wagon but I still try to work on my eating habits daily.

You see I had hip surgery when I was eleven yrs of age and that was tramatic and now I believe that my balance is off. Dr. Ian, I am an insulin dependent diabetic. I am trying to lose weight to get off some of the medications I am taking and to feel better and of course to look better. I am currently on Weight Watchers, but I am having a difficult time losing the weight. I keep losing and gaining the same 2 lbs. I try to eat a balanced meal and watch the type of foods that I eat, it is so hard to lose weight when you are taking insulin.

you know i heard this on the radio station I think that this is a good idea i have lost over 167 pounds by myself but of course gain 37 pounds lost 14.6 pounds of it as of today on the turn around program of weight watchers I think that you need to be with people that have the sturangle so i think this is a good idea then people out ther in the world wont think there are alone. This is a great idea. I'm in the process of starting a walking and work out group of African American Women. Our goal is to not only loose weight but to become and remain healthy. This will be my first time starting a group. Do you have any advise on how to do this or can you offer any advise about certain things we can do? My main reason for starting this is so that we can support and encourage each other in the quest to meet our individual weight goals. So here we go....
