I currently weigh 185. I wanted to lose 40+ pounds before my trip at the end of September, but it doesn't look like it will happen. I have a food problem. I have depression and I take comfort in food. I started to lose weight in May of this year and lost 8 pounds, but then I got sick and I stopped. I want to lose at least 15-20 pounds before Sept 30th!

My name is E-lexus and I weigh 315--I am 5'4 and 18 years old. I am literally the biggest person in my family and what’s really scary is the fact that I am also the youngest. I know I am not healthy and I have already begun taking steps to ensure that I become healthier. I have already cut several things from my diet such as bread, soda, and sugary sweets--Though I was never really a fan of sweets—however, I am big on eating things that contain a lot of fats and salts and that is my biggest problem. About a week ago (July 10-2009) I realized that I couldn’t live like this anymore, and thats when I started actually making changes to my diet. I have even been exercising on the PS2 game called “Dance dance revelution” (which I find that not only do I work up a good sweat doing it but I'm also a pretty decent player)

Because I live in a full house I cant really say that I don’t often cheat on the food I eat--However I still refuse to touch bread and soda--There are times when fried foods are present and I do take part in its consumption. And I cant just set aside food for myself because my family is just…like that.

I am unemployed--I have never actually had a job in my entire life. But I am always looking especially for jobs that will keep me on my feet and moving. The last place that I want/ need to work at is a fast food restaurant (my will power isnt THAT good) . Because of my insecurities I feel employers wont hire me because I am technically considered obese, But I refuse to be called handicapped and that’s why I hope to become healthy, and lose weight and not be ashamed to look in the mirror at myself.

During the three months we have seen the desire to over eat ,which is constant in America to sub side. Also we all excercise at lease 3 times( my kids at frantic and energetic pace ) a week. Me my self at lease 4 or all 7 and sometimes 2 a days which i credit to some of my NFL players who stay in top notch shape. Now I'm down to 183 pounds. Yet I'm still a little big because of the weight training and strenthing and cardio. Also I beleive with great or little focus ,but yet with a life you want to live the way you were intented to live, is awesome motivation! I love this challenge even though at first i thought it was to lift 50 million pounds I was pumped up for the challenge!Because toi know you have millions of people everywhere helping each other to meet their goals is a Blessing from God. And finally we have only one body so lets now pass a way( die ) knowing that it's our fault , yet is that we or who ever is that we have done everything possible and legal to man to stay physically fit. So American the small serving sizes work and you will be on your way and with exercise your sure to get there faster eating what you want. Remember to pray and ask God to be with you bwcause with man we ill stuggle but with God we will over come the struggle because we already have the victory so lets go take our Health back by force . Day after day I remember what and who I use to be. That as I remember was a fit and trim 5'9" black male with great dreams and energy.

Now I am married with four children still at home and at lease 360 lbs of which I don't know how I obtained or when.

It was very easy for me to stop smoking some 15 years ago. But, to stop eating or limited eating I have not been able to do.

I should think that an ideal weight would be 185 - 200 lbs down from 360 lbs. I pray that I will do as I desire.

I've been on my weight loss journey " i dont call it a diet because i associate diets with restriction , which this is not " But its more of a life choice for me at this point. I've only been doing this for 5 weeks and i'm down 18 pounds , and no i have not been starving myself just eating 1650 calories a day and exercising a whole heck of a lot ,At my worse i weighed in at 253 pounds ,currently i'm at 235 pounds .It's not easy and it takes a lot of mental determination , but im at a point in my life that im truly sick of being waaaaay over the weight that i should be . The key for me is repetition , i know it gets kinda repetitive but if you think of the long term health benefits i really end up getting more encouraged to continue.

I do not know how many pounds I have lost, but I believe I have, because I have this pair of jeans that I try on periodically to see how I am going. My biggest issue is sweets, preferrably White Chocolate Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. I allow myself one day a week to have these and I truly savour the treat. So far so good, I workout 4-days a week including muscle building and have cut down on my portions of food. Doing it the Old Fashion way, will definitely make me have lasting results.
