Reduce your stress.

Don't worry, be happy! That's important when it comes to losing weight. Several studies have shown that stress leads to all types of bad habits, especially when it comes to eating. If you reduce your stress, you have a better chance of being successful on an eating program and losing weight. Try meditating, doing yoga, listening to your favorite music, walking, reading a book, or any other activity that helps you relax. Stress reduction is also good for your cardiovascular system, so your heart will thank you as well!

Creating a healthier lifestyle stretches beyond diet and exercise. You have to pay special attention to your mind and soul as well. Make room in your busy schedule and find a moment for yourself. It doesn't have to be a lot of time- you can create an extra 10 to 20 minutes in your day by waking up a little earlier, have lunch on your own or even delay turning on the TV until you've had time to clear your mind.

You can manage your stress. Be intentional and find time to relax, and you'll gain a stronger perspective on what is truly important in your life.

Best ~ Dr. Ian

This whole experience has been amazing for me. Although I use to work out, and had really fallen into a rut with my health recently. It wasn't until the doctor started me on medication to treat high cholesterol that the reality of what I've been doing to myself began to set in. I've spent much of my life taking care of everyone else, and at one time took care of myself too. But at some point taking care of me stopped being a priority. Under the vision of Pastors Michael and Tanya Jones at the Village of Faith, our church took on Dr. Ian's initiative for better health. I started as a size 14 and recently purchased my first size 6 pants! It's been as much theraputic as it is physical. I had forgotten how important I was to me. While I was busy taking care of everyone else, no one was taking care of me. I feel so much better, but am surprised that so many people want me to put the weight back on. It's funny that because they are not interested in reclaiming their health, they think I should be the same way. Well I've got news -- There's NO turning back! Thanks for giving me myself back.

Dr. Iran: Man, it was great hearing you via " The Steve Harvey Show." Moreover, I choose to join this superb weight loss program that will enable me to reach my target weight. Thus, today I walked for 1 hour. I am feeling spiritually and physically cognizant. Thanks immensely for your expertise. God Bless!

Dr. Ian, I truly enjoyed the day I spent with you in Chicago at Washington Park! I know the numbers in attendance didn't meet your expectations, but speaking on behalf of those of us who were there - thank you! You and Mr. Harvey, Common, Slick Rick, Da Brat, and others, made the event electric! I danced in the front row the whole time I was there. I loved the first DJ. He was excellent and connected to the crowd beautifully. Thank you for your passion, your love and your support. You have changed my life for the better. I have started my team and will contribute my weight loss to the challenge with pleasure. Hypertension medication and obesity will be in my past long before 2008 ends. My team is Reja2008 for that very reason. Again, thank you and stay strong and encouraged even when things don't go as planned. Chicago needs another event not tied to a parade or constricted parking or access arrangements. We can deliver more people and more awareness. I am spreading the word where ever I can to get people to the website and to better health and life. Live long and stay strong! Renee

Its 2 am in Atl and my wife just found out that her biological dad has stage 4 lung cancer. Add that to my moms 5th round of Chemo, my in-laws $ issues, my 19 year old going back to college...and my younger two back to school and what do you get.

You get me, feeling really really good about my 22 lbs weight loss, this post and the 50 Million Pound Challange.

Ian, thank you for all that you do! While I understand the fame and fortune potential of your venture, I respect the sincerity with which you lead this effort. It’s the little things that matter, you know, like the easy to read web site and the free materials from State Farm.

Keep this going my brother and God bless you!

Meredith Harris:

Thank you, Dr. Ian, for giving me this start. I've read your article in Jet Magazine and signed up right away. I know that I will be successful with the diet and exercise program that you've prescribed. After all, my wedding date is June 07, 2008, and my wedding dress is a size 10, but, at the time of my wedding, my dress WILL BE a size 8.

You truly are a God sent!
