I am a African American and diabetes and high blood pressure runs in my family. I have been taking medication for high blood pressure and asthma. I have never been as big as I am now in my life even when I was pregnant. I have been trying to loose weight, but unfortunately I was not successful. I eat three meals a day now and two snacks. Since July 10th I have lost 28 lbs. My goal is to loose 50 more lbs. My blood pressure has been steady at 110/72 and my cholesterol dropped from 220 to 173. I am also exercising as many days as I can. I feel like a new person. Thank God, my metabolism which was zero is now working for me. I have more energy and my self esteem is booming.

Dr. Ian:
I am a graduate and native of Grambling State University, Grambling, LA and I am signing up to
learn about how to lose the weight. Although I am
a graduate student, a single mom and an entrepreneur I need help in meeting this challenge
of 150 pounds weight loss. How can I do this? HELP, I will look for you at the Bayou Classic.
I have got to do this, I want to return to GSU
to be an administrator in years to come, but, only if I loose this weight. Your challenge has helped
me begin to tackle this elephant on my back.

monique:

I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism back in 1998. I never really gained much weight before I had radiation treatment to shrink my thyroid last year. Since then, I have been gaining weight. Fortunately, I'm very active, so I've never gone over 160 lbs. But that's too much for me. I have been exercising for the last month and have seen some weight loss. Now, I'm struggling with what to eat in addition to working out at the gym. The bigger problem is that my husband and I own a soul food restaurant. Need I say more....Help

Cynthia Scott:

My son really loves to attend the bayou classic. We have been going for the past three years. Unfortunately we may not be able financially to attend this year. We would greatly appreciate winning this sweepstakes to be able to take him and his friend to the Bayou Classic. I have only began two days ago, eating breakfast. This I have heard countless times, that breakfast jumpstarts your metabolism. I have to say that I am seeing a difference in my metabolism. I will continue to eat breakfast for the rest of the week to see if my metabolism continues to improve. I want to loose 80 pounds. I have gained after having my son. I have been trying to loose this weight for years. I will do whatever I can to loose this weight.
