I'm joining today. I'm in pretty good shape as far as weight goes. However, I would love to lost about 10 lbs. I'm giving myself until September to lose the 10 lbs. Hopefully I can get it done.

Over the past 2 and a half years I have slowly lost 80 pounds. I have lost a total of 40 inches and have gone from a size 18-20 to a 10! I have 20 more pounds to go to get me to my weight loss goal. For all of you out there that feel like you are not making progress..STICK TO IT!!! "Slow and steady wins the race" is what my best friend use to always remind me. Had she not kept that up I probably would have quit trying a long time ago.

1 year ago I weighed 210 lbs...I'm now at 170. Today is my 1st day on the 50ml lb challenge. I figured I'd join to stay motivated for the last 20 lbs. Losing weight takes dedication and determination. I workout at least 4 days a week and I strive to eat healthy. I still splurge every now and then (probably once or twice a week), but it's more about proportion control and not deprivation. Much success to everyone and thanks a bunch Dr. Ian for all that you do for our community.

Dr. Ian,
I joined many months ago and have been severely unsuccessful. Can someone please help me kick this weight inhabitation for the duration? I'm sick and tired of being overweight.

I just joined the weight loss band wagon today.
My 22 year old son, who is without medical insurance, joined back in April and reached his 50lb weight loss goal. Unfortunately he has acquired a hyperthyroid problem and is now on medication.
Can weight loss trigger this medical problem and how can a person without a physician's care, make him/herself aware of this potential problem.

I am on a Community Day committee at Saint Augustine's College on April 5, 2008 and would like to know how can get the 50millionpoundchallenge tour bus to come to our health fair and community day. This will be a really big affair. We are linked with local radio station and anticipate a great community turn out.
Love to have ya!

I MET MY GOAL WEIGHT TODAY!
I started my journey weighing 183lbs on May 2007. I currently weigh 157lbs. Thanks Dr. Ian for giving me the inspiration to make a change and get serious about my health. I lost the weight by running on my treadmill and eating steamed vegetables and fish. I cut out all sodas and white bread. I now eat to live, not live to eat. I feel soooo much healthier. We have more control over our health than we realize. Thanks for giving back to our community!

Thank you so much for caring enough about the health of Black people. We are getting better daily and being heavy is no longer the norm. Thanks Dr. Ian
