Create a shopping list.

Go to the grocery store with a shopping list. This will help you be better organized to purchase only those foods that you need to stick with your eating plan. A prepared list will also help prevent you from impulsively throwing extra foods in your cart that are not on the list and full of unnecessary calories.

Do some research and find tasty recipes that complement your plan. Pick out your favorite healthy snacks and recipes before hitting the store and then buy ingredients that you need to get you through the week. A little time and discipline will go a long way as you work towards your goal.

I live in Atlanta. I love to find someone in my area (South Fulton) who is interest in working out or becoming diet buddies. It is sort of hard when you are on the weigh loss jounery alone.

Also, can someone post to this blog and let us know where they found the snack list. Thank a million!

A:

Has anyone found the snack list, if so please let me know how to get it.

Thanks

Vivian :

I just logged on today after over a month and was thrilled to see the Meal Plan. I printed it, and the shopping list but I don't see the Healthy Snacks List that's referenced on the meal plan. If I overlooked it, please direct me to it; if it's not on the site, please add it for us.

Thanks Dr. Ian...this is a wonderful thing your doing...you're saving, and improving, lives.

Much love.

It is difficult to find quick snack when battling high cholesterol and glucose levels? any ideas, for food in to eat while in the car ? I am in sales and drive a lot.

You might want to try raw almonds. I would keep them with me all the time when I was pregnant. They are a great source for protein and easy to keep in the car. You can have 10 almonds with 1 cup of red grapes or 20 raw almonds. It makes a great am or afternoon snack.

Hello jenester.

I'm not in VA, but i will keep you in my prayers. i'm starting my REDUCTION PLAN today ....we can encourgae each other. I see it as a plan ***to in power ourselves to look better, feel better and do better just for OURSELVES!!! Do it for you!!! live the best life ever

When creating your list you may want to think about what's in the food you’re purchasing. A rule I use is if the ingredients list of a package is long and contain words only the medical community can understand, stay away from it. Foods that contain MSG, Gluten, Sugar, Tran fats and other should have warning flags. Eating food with these additive occasionally may be ok but when consumes every day often 2 to 3 times a day, they can contribute to weight issues and other. I've successfully kept my weight off for 5 years by eating the old fashion way; lots of fresh veggies cooked lightly. I stay away from fast food and processed food. And consume more water, teas, and organic selections. Almost thirty years after High school I'm only 8 pounds heavier than my high school weight and have the health chart of a 25 year old according to my doctor. There are more tips on Stayinformed.info that may help you with your challenge. Remember to eat more fresh foods, fruits, fiber, and drink water and teas (decaf organic is best). Use organic when possible foods, eating the pesticides and growth hormones everyday can’t be healthy. Good luck to all, I know you will be successful.

I just want to say thank you to Dr. Ian Smith. You are such a smart doctor, and you know about the right foods, and know how to help people. I have been doing the fat Smash diet for about a couple of months now and walking excersizing, I have lost 17 pounds, I have always had a major weight problem. My weight got up to 192 pounds, my blood pressure was 144 over 87, and I lost 17 pounds, I was so excited, my blood pressure was 125 over 73, My weight is 175. I can't wait, till it get lower. I was so happy! I have never had a blood pressure problem, and would have probably never known until I was bought into an emergency room. My mother is an RN, and she said Susan this is terrible, your father had a heart attack because he had high blood pressure, you have the same genes as him. I am not going there. I am not African american, but I am a white Italian american, but weight and high blood pressure does not descrimate. I am so honored to have watched the celebrity fit club to learn about this diet plan The Fat Smash Diet! to help me. I just wanna say Thank You Dr. Ian!!!! Out loud!!!

Lorna S. Simmons:

I have only started the challenge this week and I am on day five. Some of my friends and family didn.t believe I could go through with this but once again I have fooled them.Yesterday I met Dr Smith at a women.s cnference in lil' ole Springfield, MA. He was fabulous and has inspire our team tremendously. Thank you for giving us this simple challenge. It works when you use your head!! Lorna S. Simmons

Theretha J. Alston:

My mother, sisters and I follow the plan as a team. Resources are pooled, menus are prepared in advance and food is purchased in bulk quantities. We also shop at discount food stores and farmers markets. This is very economical when buying for three households.

Oscar L. Bond:

I'm also a dibetic and have gotten my cholesterol under control.

Another good website is www.fifty50.com
They are a Canadian food Company that specializes in food for Diabetics. (They donate 50% of their profits to diabetes research. They have an extensive list of foods with low Glysemic Indexs, diets snacks, etc. that are good for diabetics to eat and lots more!

Look for their products in your super market!

Check them out!
