Lots of high-calorie temptations await you at parties. Avoid the seduction of those fattening foods by eating a small meal beforehand. When you get to the party, not only will you be less hungry, but if you still have the urge to eat, you can snack on the healthier foods and avoid those that are guaranteed to add inches to your waist. This strategy holds particularly true for those upcoming holiday bashes.
I admit cutting back at parties is a big sacrifice. Making these decisions and creating self-controlled eating habits are the best way for us to lose weight and keep it off. The Challenge requires that we make critical changes to the choices we make. Let’s start making the right decisions, and we will build the control and confidence we need to change our lives.

Not only parties, but dates, business lunches, etc. I recommend eating a little bit before you have brunch with your BFFs; we know that once the conversation starts rolling and the laughter has us hooked, we will eat more and less healthily. So, have a salad and plenty of water before your reunion! Better safe than Sorry!

My biggest challenedge is protion control.
I have to foucs everyday on my meal plan. I make sure that I have breakfast every morning, because that is so important. Then throughtout the day I will snack on nuts or drink veggie juice. This sound like I got it under control, but I dont. I have a big problem with over eating on nuts, dry frits, wheat cracks, bags of popcorn, and I just can not do the palm side chicken breat. I have to have at least 2 or 3 palm sides of bake chicken breast to be satisified. FYI/ I do drink my water and eat lots of veggie and last but not least I exericise. So why am I having this weight problem.

Hey I know about emotional eating and I also know about eating disorders. I have Binge Eating Disorder, or BED. When I get stressed I eat huge amounts of food, even to the point where I feel sick, even if the food doesn't taste that good. And I'm in college, so I'm always stressed. But I saw a counselor for almost a year and I finally feel like I am learning to deal with my stress in other ways. You have to take it one day at a time, and if prayer helps you deal with stress, pray every time you get nervous about bills and pray as you're writing the checks out. Before you grab that food, ask God to help you learn that everything will be alright and that you don't have to eat to comfort yourself, b/c He will. Good luck!

Hello. Emotional eating is an area I am very familiar with. Before I take that bite I ask...what am I eating and why? Write out the emotion you are expereinceing at the time you want to eat........Happy, sad, glad, or mad.. Do not go near food! If it is time for a meal.Make sure only what is to be eaten at the meal is out. Sit down no other distractions.
Do not get inot the habit at this time of rewarding yourself with food!..This is working for me I hope it helps you also. Let me know!

Can anyone give me suggestions on how to stop emotional eating. I eat all day, I eat when I'm worried about paying my bills, I eat when I'm bored, I eat when I'm sleepy at work, and worst of all, it's literally killing me because I am diabetic. How can I afford to eat healthy?
I am stuck in a rut!!! I pray that I find my way out.
