"The reason this program is designed for black people in mind is that very few weight loss programs if any is designed for black people. It is about time something like this came along."

Are black people's bodies that much different than a white person's? Or a Mexican's? or an Asian's? No...this diet is common sense. Eat less and healthier and you will lose weight. Duh. There is nothing specific here geared towards black people (except for its run by black people). I agree with buwa...this is ridiculous...Stop claiming racism when you deliberately separating yourselves from everyone else.

GeLynn Thompson :

One thing we forget about when losing weight is that "losing weight" is not always an "outside in issue." Sometimes our weight is the result of emotional problems that cause us to reach for food instead of answers. One of the first choices I made when changing my lifestyle was to talk to a professional about my bad habits (or emotional eating). I do not want to speak for the entire African American population because we are so diverse within our own subgroup, but I will say within my household we ate for social purposes, boredom, and during our personal gains/ loses. I want to enjoy food, but I want to make conscious emotional choices that will not effect me physically as well as psychologically in the long run.

patricia alexander:

320pds is too much 2 carry around especially with bad knees and back problem. I know that there is hope in Jesus and he can use your problem to help me

Buwa:

janice:

why is this million pound thing only geared toward black Americans? If white people did this just for whites there would be a huge backlash..in other words, it would NEVER happen. This is reverse discrimination. Im appalled but not surprised in the least.

karen powell:

I took to the challenge when I first heard of it in July 07'. My boyfriend and I even took the train to chicago because we missed you in St.Louis. I reached my 15 pounds I needed to lose but I need to lose my mid section. What is the best way to lose it. My concern is when I work out doing sit-ups the muscle sticks out making my abdominal look bigger which is under the fat. How do I get rid of the fat to have a tight and lean abs. Thank You

cheryka crim:

I have been struggling with my weight for about three years. I have found myself looking in the mirror and hating what I see. I really need help, but I don't know where to start. Having three children and being a stay at home mom, I can't afford to hire the trainers and do the very expensive diet plans. When I look at my children, I know that my life needs to change, bur I really don't know where to begin. This has really affected every aspect of my life. I don't have anymore self confidence. I hope someone reading this will understand what I am saying and respond. thanks

Kimberly:

I am a mother of 3 work full time (in a office) and always ate junk. I seen the challenge with Dr. Ian Smith and decided it was time to get fit and healthy not only for me but for my kids. I started the challenge at 176lbs and now weigh 172lbs. All within 1 week! All I did was eat breakfast which consist of 2 hard boiled eggs 1 piece of wheat toast...Mid day I would eat a low calorie yogurt...and for dinnder salmon or chicken with vegetables. Now don't get me wrong I still snacked, I just ate almonds or chestnuts which is great for weight loss but at the same time healthy. I never thought I could keep up with a diet but I tried and succeeded.

devasinger:

I began with the Dr. Smith's Fat Smash Diet a week and a half before Thanksgiving and my 45th birthday. What a life altering thing to do at such a difficult time, especially when food is the main event through out the holiday season. I was determined to bump up what I had already started and felt there was no time like the present. If I could make it during this holiday season, I will be able to make it always. Let me say, I did extremely way during the detoxification stage. Thanksgiving went well. I did not over indulge, I ate a little of everything and had my niece make her famous peas and rice with brown rice. It was delicious. My family was supportive and encouraging, although they did not understand why I began this during this time and did not wait unti the new year. I have lost 12 pounds so far and I am looking forward to continuing.

I will say that the biggest change I have noticed is my awareness of what and how much food I am consuming. I am definately eating more fruits and vegetables than ever, I had given up red meats about 20 years ago but I am eating less chicken and turkey while taking in more fish and vegan meals. I am also reading Dr. Smith's Extreme Fat Smash Diet and preparing to push that into high gear as we approach Christmas and my 22nd wedding anniversary.

I am grateful for the Fat Smash and know that I can and will achieve my goals. I am sharing this with everyone.

Thanks again.
Peace and Love,
devasinger

Don't give up. Continue the struggle. And, remember, take it one day at a time because tomorrow is a new day.

Detra:

I have been walking 25 minutes five days out of a week at work. It has been hard to implement a steady diet plan in my lifestyle, but I am steady concisous of my food choices, I do slip up once a week eating fried food. I have lost weight and now I have weigh myself and I have gain it back. I believe that as long as I am taking medication for asthma, it is going to be a struggle to keep weight off.
Sorry I did not have any good inspirating news to write, but one thing for sure I will not give up!
