I was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes this past July. I had already joined The Challenge but now I'm even more determined to get my weight under control, change my eating habits and get more active. My goal is to be able to get off of the diabetes medication . I would appreciate any exercise suggestions.

I finally took the step to lose weight. I'v tried so many fad diets. This time I'm commited exercise and healthy eating. I know it's going to be hard at first, because I love to bake. But I'm 47 and my daughter just lost her father to diabetes. So far my health is fine, and I want to keep it that way. So starting today. I start losong weight. I've Shapes for Women, I have to get that total workout. So If anybody reads this, and live in Tampa, FL I would really like a partner. Send a message to my email:smoothjazz60@aol.com

I have recently been diagnosed with diabetes, and am waiting for my 1st vist to a doctor to get myself in line. I feel lucky that I was home today and saw Patti Labelle and Dr. Ian on the Today show. I need the support of a group to stay dedicated to my goals. I need to get to 150 pounds to be in a healthy weight range. Hopefully this will also support my challenge to reduce my diabetes struggle. I joined the local Sr. Center and plan to exercise after work and walk in my neighbor hood at least 2-3 times a week. Thank you for the opportunity to become a member with support of a group.

I am proud to say that I joined the challenge today. I want to encourage all to stay the course and don't give in to bad habits. My goal is to lose 20 pounds which will take we down to 140. which will probably make me lose my booty, but hey, I like the idea of challenging myself to eat healthier and add more exercise to my life. My initial plan is to start monitoring what I eat. Reduce ice cream intake because lately this has become my weakness. I will also take more walks in my neighborhood and not watch so much TV when I get in afterwork. Fast food I will reduce to 3 times a month eventually eliminating it altogether.

I've been struggling with my weight for over 15 years to the present.I've joined the challenge because I know that we as a people have a problem when it comes to obesity and being over weight. I don't have any major health problems now but I know that they are soon to come if I don't take control of it now.
So to everyone that's in this challege, good luck and God bless.
