Velma A. Eaton:

We are members of the Allen family living in San Diego, Ca, New Haven, Ct and Columbus, Ga.
We are challenging each other to see who can lose the most weight. This is great we can keep track of each other and encourage each other even though we are not in the same state.

Gerry:

Looking for consistency in my program. I can go real good for 6 to 8 weeks then fall off the wagon. Excuse after excuse. I am 6'2" 330 play no football love to eat. It seems every month is a holiday to eat. Need to stay on task goal for this first three months is 8-10 pounds.

7babygirl:

I must do this. After losing 50 lbs and keeping it off for a dozen years, I have regained it all. I attribute the gain to moving to a new city losing my sister and both parents each a year apart, less time in the gym and more comfort food eating. Blood pressure is creeping up and arthritis is killing my knees, adversely affecting my workout. But 2008 is my year to get healthy and supportive of others with the same struggle. God Bless!

Tangla:

I was doing very well and like some others I have fallen off the wagon. The holidays did not help with my temptations, my Mother is the world's best cook, the sister can throw down. I am 5'3 and 187lbs and can not keep my weight down, I have two children, a full time student at UOP and work a full time job. There is not alot of time for exercise but I try to watch my diet. I am on energy drinks and salads during the week and still gain back 15lbs that I recently lost, I take the stairs when possible, skip some meals and not at all into junk food. I have tired to follow the diet program on the website but special food items get really expense. Can anyone give me any suggestions on what else I can do lost weight?

Sincerely Yours,

Ms T

Matt Wellersdick:

Some people look at my numbers and ask me why I'm on this sight. At 5'9" and 217 lbs. is far from being in good health. My BMI is at 31 (not good)and I've hit an age where losing the pounds I put on is no longer easy like when I was younger. On top of that my doctor is telling me my blood pressure has shot up in the past year 162/98. Last I work a 12hr night shift while being married and trying to raise two kids. Time is consumed. But I know that it is not to late,or so far out of control to fix. That is why I am here. I have lost 7 lbs so far, but I'm losing my focus already(holidays). Anyways, there is a saying I have always liked and try to remember (keep it posted on your fridge door) EAT TO LIVE,DON'T LIVE TO EAT. Good luck to all. Matt

Trina:

I think this is really great. I just wish I had had it prior to being in the program I'm in now (Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous). I have lost a total of 99 lbs since Nov 1, 2006 and have since been taken off my high blood pressure medicine. I was afraid of becoming diabetic since both my father and brother died from complications from this disease. I don't eat any flour or sugar as well as no fried foods. I feel great now and look forward to living a much healthier life.
