Hi,Stev and the morning show well I have been trying to lose weight for a while now I am 45 years of age I have five children ages from 27yrs of age to age 5 years. And one grandchild that is 4 years old and my 27 year old is now having her frist child. So I need to get in shape so I can be around for my children and grandchildren and enjoy life. This is the biggest I have ever been I have tried almost everything I was thinking on trying the lap band to lose weight.I just want to feel good about myself and my health.I do eat right I cook almost all of my foods,I don't eat fried foods, maybe once in a while I might have fried chicken or fish.I would like to lose 100 pounds I know I didn't put it on in one year ,but I wish I could just get started and just lose some where i can feel good.I know I look good I just want these looks to be with the body or the other way around.I started walking, but I can not always walk on my lunch break because I work with helping people with their utlity bills and sometimes I can not get out to walk, but I keep telling myself that I can do all things though christ that strenghtens me.I just need to do it.Thank You'll for your time.

I am in my fifties, I just made a major carreer change,After 27 years of marriage, my husband decided he did not want to be married to me. After always putting him and my daughter first, who is now married, I decided to take a new job in the D.C. area and I plan on concentrating on my health and weight, and do something for me. I am fifty and fly! Losing the weight will be an added bonus. I started 2 weeks ago. I have lost 6 pounds so far. It is a start!

I first heard about the 50 Million Pound Challenge on the radio. I knew who Dr. Ian was from watching a few episodes of 'Celebrity Fit Club' and he always seemed genuine so I thought it might be a good idea. I didn't join right away but I kept hearing and seeing ads so it was on my mind. When I finally did join,I had to weigh myself and realized that I had gained about 15 pounds since that last time I checked. It bothered me and I thought that was enough to motivate me, it wasn't. I tracked my weight for a few months then stopped. I had only lost 4 pounds in all that time.
That was then this is now. I've gained weight since then and I am more than 20 pounds over my goal weight of 150lbs. On top of all this, I recently found out about health problems that have been developing for some time now including uterine fibroids, hypothyroidism and a cyst on my kidney. I can't help but think that my love of snack foods and not exercising regularly have something to do with all this. I know I need to make some lifestyle changes. I'm a vegetarian but I love chocolate, Cheez-its and brownies. I like to walk but where I live it's easier to drive everywhere. I have a gym membership but I rarely go. I also sit at a desk all day at work which is also where I do most of my snacking. I've decided not to worry myself to death, I can use that energy to find solutions I can live with. I also don't want to focus on past mistakes. Instead I want to use them to help me choose new acheivable goals. One goal is to use this challenge differently. I joined the Steve Harvey Morning Show group. I listen to it everyday on my way to work so it's a constant reminder of the challenge. This is also why I decided to share my story. I wanted to really put myself out there and share this experience. Knowing that others know what's going on with me and may be interested in my progress is scary but I'm hoping it will motivate me to do better. My main goal for this challenge is to get back down to 150lbs. My other goals are to eat less processed foods, get more exercise and improve my health.

Steves comment about Fantasia free yourself don't only apply to women there are a lot of men that feel the same way. Women of today aren't like women of yesterday.
