A response from Dr. Ian to your emails

Tools to help you reach your goal.

Many of you have sent me e-mails over the last several months specifically asking me to suggest a diet plan that will help you lose weight. We have provided diet guidelines at 50millionpounds.com that give you an idea of what types of food are healthy and promote weight loss and what types of foods you should avoid.  We plan on updating the site in the near future and providing a more detailed 30-day plan that you can follow from breakfast to dinner and everything in between.

If you’re looking for a plan right now let me first say that there are several good programs out there that might work for you.  Because I don’t personally know your medical history, dieting history, allergies, preferences, etc., I can’t say which specific program is best.  However, I can advise you on what you should look for in any program you ultimately choose.  The 3 important criteria that a diet program should meet are as follows: (1) safe, (2) effective, and (3) sustainable.  These are three of the characteristics I considered when creating my diets, The Fat Smash Diet and The Extreme Fat Smash Diet.

My programs that I use on the TV show Celebrity Fit Club are like other good programs—they’re based on solid health and medical principles.  They are simple, easy to follow, and realistic.  If you want to lose weight more gradually, then you would benefit from The Fat Smash Diet which starts out with a 9-day cleansing detox.  Most people lose 6-8 pounds during detox.  However, if you’re someone who wants to lose weight quicker, but in a healthy way and be able to keep the weight off, then you’re likely to benefit from The Extreme Fat Smash Diet.

The Challenge is free -- just remember to login and update your weight!Physical activity is an important component to long-term weight loss and good health.  That’s why 50millionpounds.com is such a great site.  It gives you so many useful tools for your weight-loss journey.  It also gives you the opportunity to win great prizes.  We currently are giving away a $1000 gift card, $500 gift card, and iPhone to those who win our 1 year anniversary sweepstakes.  It’s so easy to enter.  All you have to do is log in to your account and enter your new weight.  Each time you do this your name is entered into the drawing.  Click here for details.  It’s as simple as that.

Moderator's response to 'deltadawna'...

While this is a program that emphasizes the health concerns facing African Americans, anyone is welcome to participate.

You can read more about why by clicking on the 'About' tab in the menu bar.

Thank you.

deltadawna:

I was very disappointed to discover after I had already joined that this site is only for African Americans. Why does an issue like weight have to be separated by color? We all face the same issues with eating and exercize. I was really excited about this opportunity and the support of others. How about us human beings supporting one another?

I did as I was told to post the pounds I lost. I never received an I-phone. I should have known I never win anything! Or was there something else I was suppose to do. I post every now and them because of that fact. I have really been trying to lose the weight. I wanted to loose 50 pounds by last Christmas but that did not work. Now I'm shooting for my birthday which is Jun 23rd. I will be fifty. I walk, climb stairs, jog and everything. I just finish the St. Louis Marathon(I did the half marathon 13.1 miles) and the weight still is not coming off and fast as I would like. I also eating right. What else can I do Dr. Ian?

Marshall Weathers:

Steave and crew; Do we have to wait until you are 60 yrs before their is a club for us. I'm 60 yrs 6ft. 2& half in. 205 lbs. Retired Navy VA. Beach, VA. Keep up the good work Thanks love your show.

Clinton Walker III:

This has been a great event for those looking to lose weight the healthy way. An event such as this helps motivates those that would not exercise otherwise.

Fay:

I have watched several segments of Celebrity Fit Club in 2007 and was extremely impressed with the results. Due to a back injury, I am limited with the type of exercises I am able to do. It is hard going from being very active (dancing, exercising, and belly dancing) to nothing, but by the Grace of God, I am able to do some exercises. I love The Fat Smash Diet, because it consists of everyday foods I normally eat. When I started the diet June 1, 2007, I was positive I would see the results I wanted and I DID!! I have purchased several books for family members and recommended it to several other family members and co-workers. The 9-day detox IS wonderful as well as the rest of the phases. Some have stressed "I can't do the 9-day detox. I need my meat." I told them it is a mind thing and as long as you convince yourself that, you are correct, it will not work. I am very happy to have lost the weight I gained (40 lbs.) after injuring my back and I am motivated to reach my goal of 220 lbs more than ever.

THANKS DR. IAN for THE FAT SMASH DIET!!!
Continued success with the 50 Million Pound Challenge.
