For the next 11 weeks, Detroit is challenging residents to start losing weight and lead healthier lives. Click here to check out an article with more details.
We're calling on all Motor City residents: Please take a moment to join The Detroit City Challengers team and tell everyone you know to do the same! As our past year has proven, the best way to have a successful weight-loss challenge is to team-up.

Your leadership can help set a tone that will change and save lives throughout Detroit.
Your response was huge when we came to visit you last year. Over 10,000 people came out to party with us as we kicked-off The Challenge (you can re-live the event by viewing the photos on our flickr™ site).
Please remember to login and report the pounds you lose on the site.
Also, every time a Detroit City Challengers team member updates their weight tracker, they get an entry into a drawing for a trip for two from Detroit to anywhere in the continental U.S., hotel accommodations and a $500 State Farm Bank VISA gift card to spend any way they like. The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the Detroit City Challenge on June 21.

Hello All,
I have been only on this for a week and I have lost 3lbs and I think this is going to be the hardest and the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I am tired of looking at myself in the mirror and disliking what I see. I am tired of looking at pictures of myself and being the largest one in the picture. I am tired of not liking being in the body that God gave me. Point being I am just plain tired. I think turning 35 made me say to myself the only way I am going to change myself is just to do and you can't change yourself by sitting on the couch eating potato chips and drinking cokes all day long. I have joined my company gym, I started taking Kick boxing and step classes, I try to walk on the treadmill for at least 45 minutes 3 days a week, before my Kick boxing and step classes, sometimes I ride the stationary bike for 20 minutes. Now I am starting to realize that I like the way I feel after taking these classes. I know I just started and I have a long way to go, but I am taking this one day at time. Just one step to the next.

I too am inspired by your success, thank you for sharing you story. If you get a chance drop me a line, and give me a little insight on what keeps you motivated to the next level.
Great job girl! Keep up the good work. I know my turn is coming soon although I have been down this road before I am confident this is the last time I am going to yo yo back and have to start over. I have only lost 4 lbs since February, but I won't give up.
Again, congratulation on you commitment to yourself!

I am amazed and enchoraged at the turnout at these events. Dr. Ian is about exercise and dieting and not gimmicks.
