I heard of The Challenge listening to the Tom Joyner Morning Show and watching Celebrity Fit Club.
I took a look and signed up because my wife recently gave birth to our daughter Kaitlin and she talks to me all the time about getting in shape so I can be around for my family. What's better motivation than that?
My father has high blood pressure and has recently turned 60, its great to have him around. I have a great family and I want to be around many years to leave memories of good times with my child thru my life as my father has planted in my life.
I am loosing weight for love; for the love of my wife, my parents, my friends and most importantly my daughter. Being a father is the most significant thing I have done thru the grace of GOD and I want to get healthy enough to be here to raise my baby girl up to an upstanding woman someday. And, I want to stay attractive to my beautiful wife.
I want to stay helpful to my parents as they age and stay active with my two sisters and my friends.
In Feb. I was 313 pounds, I started a weight lost competition at my job (where I am on the recreation comittee). We have weekly checks on progress and prizes for the most weight lost with an overall winner at the end of a 3 month period, then it begins again. Its sponsored by the company and its motivational.
As of April 14th I am down to 280 pounds and I and my goal is the get down to 220 pounds.
I watch what I eat and cut out the sweets and junk food and grill everything on the gas grill my wife got me for Christmas. I stay active playing with my daughter everday and taking her for walks in her stroller.
Wish me luck.

I have just done the hardest thing that I have ever had to do and that was to admitt to myself that I cannot live with this weight any longer and to take back my life and the first step in doing that is to sign up for the 50 pound challenge.

I prayed before I got on this website.I have been having trouble becoming motivated to exercise and I saw your name and where you were from. My family came from Alabama and have the same health issues you stated. Hey... we may be family :) But I am happy for you and your story has motivated me to go forward and stop making excuses. I WILL DO THIS AND FINALLY BE HAPPY WITH MYSELF AND BE HAPPY. Thank you.

This story had me in tears and I will be praying for this man and his family. May the grace of God continue to bless Dr. Ian. I thank God also for planting the seed within Dr. Ian to care enough about people to want to help them achieve their goals and prosper in every area of thier lives.

Congrats on your family and on starting this challenge! I hope and pray that you succeed in all your goals and don't hesitate to come my way if you have any questions or need that push that we all need!
About a little over two weeks ago, I started a fitness camp. I was at my biggest (282 lbs.) after having 3 kids and just plain not eating right! I have stayed on course since I've started, meal plan, exercising and all, and have lost 11 lbs in 2 weeks. I lost 6 my first week, and 5 my second! I feel great with more energy that I have had in years and my clothes are already starting to fit looser! I am determined to see this through, and have been VERY strong willed. So like I said, if you need an extra push or any advice, come my way and I'll help you! :-)

Your story is very inspiring. You're doing this for love. You have the look of a father who loves his baby girl so much. It's wonderful to here that you want to be around to see her grow up, raise her, be there for all of your family. Your life is in your hands, and you have the power to change and make your life and your families life better. And it starts with you being as healthy and you can be. I'm proud of you. My words of encouragement for you, You have the power, use it. Don't ever give and even if you get off course, get back on board. Take it one day at a time. Living Healthy and strong is the best gift you can ever give your family. The best of luck to

I heard about this on the way to work today. I want to lose weight badly. I have been under weight all of my life. Just a couple of years ago I prayed for some weight, because I was teased so much in high school. I had 3 children over the last 18 years, NOW the weight want leave. I have thyroid problems. Please help me get the weight off. Oh, i've learned to be careful what you pray for.
