Hello Everyone,
I was discharged from the military last September for being overweight 325lbs to be exact. I thought to myself, I just lost my career because I like to eat and the people that kicked me out were bigger than me. There were other factors that contributed to my other than average size like quitting smoking (after 16 years), quitting drinking, and heavy work schedule loaded with stress and lots of good food (lol lol). I found comfort in the one thing I knew best, FOOD!!!!
I hit every buffet you can imagine, man, I was out of control. I would breeze thru a drive thru and eat $20.00 worth of dollar menu items. The whole time I was playing mental games with myself. I would say to myself one more buffet meal then I'll start my diet, or I need this, this and this before I start my diet and excercise plan. Well, needless to say I never did start, I just kept up the excuses. I kept the blame on everyone and everthing else as to why I wasn't losing weight. I found out one day that I could have my career back if I came into the prescribed standards. Even then I was still playing the mental games. My life began to spin out of control, my credit was plummiting and I was losing everything I worked hard for in the military. So one day I decided, whats 2 weeks out of the rest of my life, (however long or short that may be) and I began a highly disciplined eating plan and exercise plan. I figured, what the heck, if it works fine, if it doesn't I didn't lose anything any way. I ate 5 times a day and drank lots of water. My exercise was the hard part as well, lets face it routines weren't for me. So I did what i could when I could the one thing I did stay with was my cardio. I briskly walked/ ran every morning before breakfast and in the evening before my last meal. At least 30 minutes each time. My abs and stretching I did several times a day, throughout the day. I didn't do any extensive time periods, 10 minutes here 10 minutes there. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish in 10 minutes here and there. Well long story short 7 weeks ago I was 325lbs and today I am 270lbs and steadily dropping. You see, it can be done, but you have to make the decision. You can try all the latest diet fads and plans you want, but if you don't make the decision whole heartedly then your still going to cheat on your diet and get lazy on your work out. Then what was the purpose of starting, just to defeat yourself in the end? Look at it like this, be true to yourself for 2 short weeks and look at the difference and then say, WOW, I lost all this weight in this short period of time. I could double this in a month. I found this type of thinking kicked of a positive mental attiutde and kick started my motivation. In this short period of time my cholesterol levels are perfect and my blood sugar levels were great. I beat type 2 diabetes!!! I'm not trying to write a success story, but a testimonial of how taking responsibility and staying positive are the 2 most important factors in a successful weight loss environment. Always remember, As bad as you think you have it now, there is someone out there who has it 10 times worse and they're still smiling!!! 757 636 3738 this is my number. I will help any one I can achieve their goals. Feel free to call. I'm not soliciting or selling anything. I would like to offer something I never was offered: HELP!!!!! Thru unity and solidarity everything can be accomplished. Good Luck:):):):):):):)

Hello:
I just want to share my personal goals and trials that brought me to this website. I am married to a wonderful husband and we have four children who all look to me for moral support. My husband is a retired diabled veteran who has multiple injuries due to the military. Our marriage has truly been tried and our children has been affected by his injuries. However, over the years through prayer and the support of our Pastor and his wife and many other people that God allowed us to meet, our family has made it over many obstacles. Yet, I was so busy being there for my husband and our children, I let myself go and June of this year I got tired of what I was looking at in the mirror. So, I not only joined 50 million pound challenge, but became a team leader.
Since June, I have lost 15 pounds and we all play a big part in choosing healthier foods when we go shopping and preparing our meals as a family.
I want to challenge my sisters to step out on faith and take that first step and trust God in all things. In closing I want to share this scripture that has inspired me and is our team motto, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, Phil. 4:13"
