for-real:

I live in the city of Detroit, and for 3in a half years I was a d.dot city bus transportation driver I was depressed (my father had just died) he was my best friend ever I was newly married and went from 155lbs to 276lbs we worked so much both of us over a 101 hours a week each, and all I ate was fast food, and drank almost 3two liter pops every day. when We quit the job on the same day it was cause it was putting stress on our marriage. Well the nextday I got up to get dress and tryed to put on a pair of jeans I couldn't get them passed my knee. i could't understand what happen I didn't see it, so after about ten pants later and sitting on the bed in tears cause I could not get in one pair, I new I had to do something. I got the slim in six tapes off t.v. and I had all four of my children working out with me. I was doing good I lost about 20lbs in 3months then I could't lose anymore so I stop working out and gain it right back. I'll start then stop start again and stop totaling myself at now 193lbs i joined a gym and will start kicking lesson in a week but i want to keep it up and off thats why when I heard Dr.Ian on the radio yesterday I came to the sight raed about Pam E and was like I can do this, i want to, there for I will do this. ot only for me but for my family I want to be around as long as I can.

Rebecca Garcia:

I plan to start this plan Dec 1st. At 5ft4in and 372 pounds I am not very hopeful. i know if I don't do something I am going to die.

Bonita:

Hello. My name is Bonita. I am struggling very hard to stay focused and motivated. I start out great, but lose fuel as I go along. I pray that someone here can encourage me. I am still trying; however, I do get discouraged. I hired personal trainer, but I can only afford her one day a week because of the economy. I have something I'm dealing with mentally, but I don't know what it is that sabbotages my weight loss.

Carla Freeman:

Hi everyone....I posted on November 7th and at that point, I had lost 12 pounds within 2 weeks...what a victory! Well, I went to the doctor yesterday and I've lost an additional 7 pounds! I'm ecstactic. I just want to thank everyone on here who posts because its a lot of encouragement for me to read your success stories. Dr. Ian's meal plans have been the greatest! Even though I have lost a total of 19 pounds in 27 days.....I still have a long journey to losing my total of 53 pounds (34 pounds to go). Like I said in my earlier post, my goal is to lose a total of 2 pounds per week and I have never been more motivated as I am today. I now again realize that I am not on a diet but I have changed my lifestyle. I am not as tired as I used to be and I can even sit up and watch television past 10pm these days! I used to come home from work and just go straight to bed....I can now do housework, laundry, and run errands....this is a HUGE victory for me. Again, thanks to Dr. Ian and this challenge...I couldn't have done it without you!

Yvonne:

My story is not much different from others but I am posting this so that I too will be able to look back at it after my weight loss goals begin. I am a single mother i gained 127 pound due to hypothyrodism in my pregnancy. I am 225 pounds and hate it. I work out but mostly eat due to depression and either keep on the weight or gain. This is the largest that I have ever been right after the baby who is seven now I went on a dramatic weightloss diet and lost 140 pounds but regained it quickly. This time I want to lose and keep it off. So I am strating the 50MPC just for me. I am hoping to lose weight, gain confidence and increase my health.

dede johns:

I joined the 50 million lb challenge some time ago... but for one reason or another couldn't really get focused and motivated. I mainly wanted to stay healthy, exercise regularly and eat right- and of course keep the weight under control. Since I originally joined i've gained 15 lbs - yes gained! Blame it on being busy, some stress, going back to bad eating habits, not exercising...blah blah blah...but i'm feeling determined and I really want to get rid of these few extra pounds. I'm 43 years old and I want to look 40'ish and fabulous not flabby. I'm only 5-3 and a few pounds really show fast...so i'm on a mission, and I know that this challenge can help! I would like to join a group in Arlington, TX which I know would help even more!Help me out...

G-mom05:

Today is Saturday, November 15, 2008 and I just joined the 50 million pounds challenge. I have put on a few pounds over the years. If you looked at me, you wouldn't say that I look overweight, but I am. My current weight is 155 pounds and I want to get down to 125/130 pounds, which is what I should weigh for my bone structure. So I'm on my way to losing the weight I want to and need to lose. It's a mind thing and I'm very focus at this moment to get started on my weight loss program. Thank you Dr. Ian for this web site. So many other websites want you to purchase a weight loss program and you on the other hand are providing valuable tips and guidance to anyone who wants to lose weight for free. I know it's up to me and there's no reason why I can't make this happen with the help of the tools and info you unselfishly provide.

Denise Brown:

Thanks Dr. Ian! You're my hero. I accepted the challenge in May of this year and this week I'm 31 pounds lighter! It's an awesome feeling to know I've got the support of a real doctor and the moral support of so many others out there just like me. I'm a 51 year old black southern female who knows how to cook. Now, thanks to Dr. Ian I'm re-learning how to cook and how to eat. There is life without ham hocks!:-) I'm in the gym 5 days a week and walking every lunch break at work. I'm working my way towards an 80 pound weight loss, one pound at a time. Come on people, with Dr. Ian helping and encouraging us, we can't lose. Oh wait a minute...YES WE CAN!!! Deniseb in S.C.

J-Dub:

Well, today is first day of the rest of my life. I've decided to start the 50 million pound weight loss journey! I had a startling revelation the other day. I hopped on the scale and weight a whopping 173 pounds on my five foot 3 frame. I carry all of my weight in my hips and thighs. If there is anyone out there who can give any kind of advise, please do so.

Jenaya:

I love the weight loss tools. I think there should be a way to keep track of inches lost though. Sometimes just pounds can be discouraging as we build muscle and loose fat.

booski brown:

what's my story? Well 1st of all, this will be the 1st time I have tried to lose a large amount of weight without diet pills. I decided I wanted to do it right this time.

Secondly I wanna do this because I am 56. I have been diagnosed with asthma, high blood pressure, and multiple sclerosis. I also am a care giver to my 21 year old son who has been diagnosed with Schizo-affective disorder.

thirdly, I am doing this because my son and his girl are doing this too.

and that's my story

Carla Freeman:

Hi everyone.....I went to the doctor on 10/22 (Wednesday) and to my surprise....my doctor informed me that I weighed a whopping 180.4 pounds! Well, for my 5'2" frame...this is definitely in the obese range....(I've been in denial for quite some time)...I immediately ran home, ate a big dinner and sat watching tv, disgusted with myself. Then, the next day on the way to work, I ate 5 donuts while driving in my car. I finally decided on 10/24 (Friday) that I would attempt to make a change. You see, I've always been a healthy eater and watched my weight but everyone around me would always make me feel as though I wasn't eating enough or that I was 'starving myself'....so I gave in to those around me to make them happy and not myself.....and look where it has landed me. Well, needless to say, I took measurements of myself, I've been drinking 12-16 glasses of water a day, walking, and watching my caloric intake. When I returned to the doctor on yesterday (11/5), I weighed 168.2 pounds.....I LOST 12 POUNDS IN TWO WEEKS. Now, I know the rest of my journey won't be this successful but I am grateful for this. My goal is to lose only 2 pounds per week until I am down to 127 pounds. I'll keep you guys posted!!!!!

KJ:

After listening to the radio this morning in which I rarely do, I decided that I needed to get more involved with others who are also trying to lose weight. The most amazing thing is I've already lost 81lbs and my goal is to lose atleast a 100 by the end of the year. I have always been comfortable with being big until the day that I had to weigh myself and saw what I actually weighed! So that is when I knew I had to do something about it. I work out 5 times a week and ive never felt better. Each month I average about 10 lbs or more and november and december I will be working a lot harder to reach my goal of 100 lbs.

I give god the glory
KJ

Sandygirl13:

I was my twin sister's maid of honor.
After her pictures came back I received a revelation. "Missy", I said to myself, "you've got to get healthy and stop being a HYPOCRITE"!
Everything was starting to hurt, my knees, my back, everything.
I am a nurse and I teach health, weight loss and exercise and I realized that I must start to PRACTICE WHAT I PREACH!!!
I started walking, I cut the fat in my diet and started eating healthier.
I lost 33lbs and 7 dress sizes over a year.
Now I've started a health ministry at my church
and we have heard about your challenge from your agent Latrice Tanner.
WE ARE THE HISTORIC ST. JAMES STEPPERS!!!
That's my story

Duke:

In the world of law enforcement, you wouldn't imagine the workload one carries that includes a lack of exercise as we spend most of the time in the unit patrolling the neighborhoods, highways and b-ways. These actions put even the most healthiest person in harms way. We eat on the run, doen't have a chance for food to burn and digest. This happened to me. After gaining at least 45 to 60 pounds with this type of practice. I had to make a change. Positive results only can be achieved when YOU make up your mind to do so. I made myself get motivated and got after it. Exercise, eating right and motivation gave me the reult of a weightloss of 77 pounds. And the great thing was NO MEDICINES. Trust me everbody, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Fruity:

About 3 years ago, I had a son and during my pregnancy I gained 42lbs. After having my baby, I kept 30 of those pounds. I had a lose of energy, couldn't wear my clothes and just didn't feel attractive anymore. Well, I kept hearing about the 50millionpound challenge and said to a co-worker, "I need to check that website out." Mind you, I put it off for about a month and finally went on the website and registered and read the different tips and began my process. I started walking at least three times a week and praying that I could slack up on eating sweets. I refused to go on a diet because usually people that go on them, just come off them and overeat and regain the weight they lost. I started eating more vegetables, green and red ones and more products that has fiber in them. The pounds just started coming off. Everyone wants to know how and I tell them I still eat my sweets but not as much and just walk.

That 's my story.

Ebony:

I just made the decision to sign up for the challenge today. I was always an active individual until I became a single mom in 2006. I gained 106 lbs while pregnant, and really didn't have the energy to work out. Nursing took off 41 lbs, but I'm still 65 pounds over weight. I use to be be so confident about myself, but that has fallen by the wayside. I want me back! And you know what, I'm going to get her back!!!

Annette:

Would you ever guess that people who are vegetarian can still be overweight. Well I am living proof. I have been a vegetarian for 22+ years. The only thing that have stay moderate is my blood pressure for 40+ years, 119/70.
I do some form of exercising every now and then.
But still is able to carry 200+ pounds for several years. All I would like to to be able to cook my favorite veggie dishes without feeling that I am going to put on pounds with every fork full I take. While I am dealing with my weight issue.
