My sister told me about "The Challenge" and suggested I use it as a motivational tool. My goal was to lose 15% of my body weight which came out to a total of 37 lbs.  With only 5 more lbs to go, I KNOW I can do it.

The keys to my success:

  • Find a fitness program you enjoy.  I hate to run but love to spin.  I currently ride 2-3 hours a week.  Cardio!
  • Eat smart.  Watch portion size on meats.  Limit processed foods.  Nothing FRIED!

I want to be able to enjoy all that life has to offer and be the best husband for my wife and father for my kids.  Getting and staying in shape will help me accomplish this goal.

Hello to you all My name is Jackie I am a 38 year old mother of three raging in ages 13-20 and I am very over weight. I joined this challenge to get healthly being I have no insurance I need to make sure I stay healthy so I can see my kids graduate collage and high school.

Nan:

I just joined on Jan. 12. I had already started my weight loss. Very slow going. I lost from 384 down to 374 in eight months. Then I started the meal plan and the first week I lost 5 lbs. The second day of the next week I have already lost 1 more pound. I'm so excited and feel I have a chance at getting this off again! But now the meals make me feel the change in my eating will help me to keep it off. One of the best things is I'm not hungary and my energy level is already going up not down. I'm so excited. Dr Ian always writes if you follow this, you can do it and I really believe it. Thankyou, I'm doing way better than when I was doing other plans Thankyou!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Stacy Berglan:

I am just beginning on Dr. Ian's journey, my journey for a healthy body and life! I am so excited about the ease of shopping and meals. It seems that so many other programs have such difficult items to purchase and cook that I give up after just a week or two. I am so excited about this! Thanks Dr. Ian!

Fran Lewis:

Thanks to this program I have lost over 65 pounds. I have never felt so great in my life. I never told anyone that I checked out the meal plan when I started to diet. I created my own diet plan and then I saw what Dr. Smith has created and realized that what I was doing was great, but what he has created was even better. I love the meal plans and I can really stick to them. I look great.I have battled with being overweight all of my life. Not anymore.
Thank you
Fran Lewis

Great, Eric! I just started the Challenge yesterday. I'm 5'2 and weigh 208 lbs. I am working out at home with my Wii and have learned something new already. There are 2 stress times I turn to food.
I started a Team Crystal for anyone named Crystal (first or last name any spelling) even Friends of Crystal may join! I need the motivation! Great job! :)

jeneen:

Much success to everyone.

Fred Gaston:

I am encouraged by all who are on the road to a healthier lifestyle. I started my journey in December 2006. I am 50 pounds lighter and 8 pants sizes smaller. I exercise at least 5 days per week. I do not diet but I eat much more healthier and I have a "healthier attitude". Keep up the great work.

Marie:

Eric,

I just wanted to share a quick version of my story...I have lost a total of 65 pounds since June of 2008! I had a friend tell me about Smart for Life Weight Management. I like to call it a DIET TOOL. You Eat A healthy version of a cookie. It is made with all good stuff. At first I was very skeptical...But weighing in at 320 lbs, I had to do something. The cookies have helped me train myself to eat small portions of good for you food every 3 hours. I am well on way to my goal weight of 180 Lbs. I have tried so so many diets..I can't say enough about my cookies! Good luck and check them out at smartforlife.com.

how do we see before and after pics...everyone looks good

Debrah D:

Eric, you are looking good right about now. I know it is hard because I am only halfway to my goal. But the end is in sight. But working, a spouse, and family keep me so busy, I have a hard time finding time to get in my cardio. Sometimes 3 or 4 hours is all I have to do anything besides sleep, eat, and work. How do you do it?

Dawn Carter :

I have never been MORE motivated to master a health lifestyle. I have tried other programs but this time it's different because my purpose is VERY CLEAR! My immediate goal is to re-apply for Health Insurance to the company that denied me. According to the companies BMI scale my current weight is a health risk! This news hit me HARD! Hard enough to motivate me to GET this weight OFF of ME!!!!!! I will give you an update and a picture in 3months!!!!!

Michelle Thomas:

Congrats to you Eric, and you will reach your goal in no time soon...Actually, I bet you are there already!!! I was a featured challenger back in Feb.. and nothing feels as good like taking on Dr. Ian's challenge and sticking to it!!

Kyrston:

Good luck Eric! I know you can do it!

angela marshall johnson:

With all the weight loss and exercise tips, I am having a difficult time staying focused. Let me tell you why, maybe I can get some suggestions. I work the night shift 11p-7a. it is difficult to get a reqular scheduled time to exercise and eat at regular meal times. most days I go to sleep at 8:30 or 9am. sleep for about 4 hours. up between 12p or 1p. may eat about 2p. back to bed around 7 to try to get a couple of hours more before work. up again around 10p. with a schedule like this can someone offer suggestions. Even suggestions that would say when to try to sleep, eat and exercise. I would appreciate any and all suggestions. thank you in advance angela

Kim E Mfn:

It's my first day of the challenge. I'm excited, but doubtful as I've not committed to a plan for more than 4 months...ever.

Candice:

Way to go, Eric!! Reading success stories makes it all the more easier for people just starting out! Keep up the good work!!
