My name is Daniel Eley, this is my story. I was like most Americans, I was overweight, and actually I was obese and tired all the time. I had high blood pressure, my joints hurt so bad I couldn't walk up stairs, I was borderline diabetic, and had acid reflect to the point it would wake me up at night gasping for breathe. My wife was worried, my kids were concerned and I was scared. I needed to do something, I had tried almost every diet on the planet and nothing seemed too worked or last. But what could I do I had failed so many times in the past? I had given up the very thought of ever being healthy. Desperate, I decided to try one more time and that is when I began a life changing journey, that is when I started the 50 million pound Challenge, I saw it while watching an NBA game and logged on. My above conditons are gone and to date I have lost 81 pounds, body fat is 14.6%. What I needed was accountability and a challenge to keep me on track to achieve my goal.

I am so proud of each and every one of you. You took the challenge and you came out winners! I want to do the same. I now weigh between 170 and 177. I used to maintain a weight of 145 to 160 pounds. As I got older, my weight increasingly became a problem. Now, I find that I am having health issues, due to my weight. I am 5'9 tall. Thus, I begin my grueling regiment today, Monday, March 23, 2009. Believe it or not, I have the support of my 13-year-old daughter, who has been after me for months to exercise and eat healthy. I showed her this program and she is so happy and ready to help. Go figure!

Hi, Daniel.
Congratulations on your success-you're an inspiration. I just learned about the challenge after watching Dr. Ian on Bonnie Hunt and am excited/anxious about getting started. I will keep your story in mind as I pursue my own goals and because of you will know that better health is possible. All the best for much continued success & good health.

So many stories have touch my heart. I began my goal of being healthy about a year ago. I can say that I have never felt better. Being overweight is a curable condition and if we can just get the message out. Sciences has given us the tools to conquer this problem. My last suggestion is to start everyday new and never ever give up!

I am overjoyed to be a part of this challenge. I have always had a weight problem. I would like to lose about 80lbs. Reaching my goal weight will really make me feel like I have accomplished a task I have always set out to do. I thank you all for putting such a program together that will enable some of us to take advantage of the challeng and achieve our goals.

Camela: Your story sounds like me for most of my life,go on a diet, lose weight, deprive myself and then gain it right back, . It was until I quit dieting and just changed my lifestlye that I really felt the difference. I started looking at how I could eat foods that where good for me that I knew I would enjoy. I never deprived myself of food and I started new every day. I found healthy foods I enjoyed

One reason for my success was not giving up the food I loved. But to learn to control the amount I was eating. I dearly loved rich thick milk shakes. So I would replace my two meals with with a vitamin pack good tasting shake high in protein mixed with frozen fruits and for snacks I would have protein bar or little pies I would make myself with the mix I used for the shakes. A slice of bread with a little peanut butter sure makes you fill full. Drinking lots of water was key to feeling full and washing out my body. Starting slowly exercising then increasing as my body adjusted. I also found someone who would keep me accountable daily and encourage me to keep on track. Staying connected here will help. Don't ever give up let me tell you it is totally worth it.

I glad Daniel that you decideed to make a life changing decision thats what we all need to do; not diet, but make a life change in our lives. Thats what I had to do and I am working towards my life changing goals I have been yo-yoing up and down for over tens years and instead of doing that now it just keeps going up and up, and now its time to get going and get this weight off.
