In the News: Celebrating Teamwork on CNN!

Far too often we're exposed to stories of loss and disintegration. But, every once in awhile, we catch a glimpse of hope in a news story.

The reality is, seeing people committed to a better way of life is inspirational. That's exactly the story CNN presented yesterday.

On the brink of our 2 year anniversary, CNN's Fredricka Whitfield reached out to share the story of The Challenge through the committed teamwork of four Atlanta women.

Take a look at the video, and invite everyone you know to join us in The Challenge:

CYNTHIA HUNT:

I START ON THIS PROGAM. IT WORK FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND LOST 25 POUNDS. NOW I DON`T KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW WITH MY SELF. I AM GOING TO TRY AGAIN BUT I DON`T KNOW IF IT WILL WORK. I STOP GOING TO THE GYM BECAUSE I AM TO BUSY AT MY JOB.

Have struggled with weight since my late thirties. I had problems when younger but took the easy way out, and starved myself half the time to be thin, and what I thought to be healthy. I now eat lots of fish and vegetables.
Make smoothies with fresh fruit and add veggies to help the raw food process along. I take vitamin D and calcium as well as glucosamine Chondroitin. I had surgery about four years ago and it has left me with a cysta cele, which made it difficult to exercise. I am not able to do some pilates and hope to do more. I cannot keep away from the sugar things, or crunchy stacks for very long, however, I have begun to loose a small amount of weight which is encouraging to me. I hope to loose more since I have arthritis and chronic sacroiliac dysplasia. I am working to be healthier as well as weight loss due to all my joint and bone problems and for the HEALTH OF IT! After having four children the last of which was c section, I now have an added problem with the tummy area. I was always slim without any flab and fat, now that is a thing of the past, and I am trying to get rid of the extra pounds around my abs, and it is very hard with my hernia, but I will always try no matter what. Sometimes I will fall off the track but I will always pick myself up, as Martin Luther King once said, "the ground is no place for a champion" and I want to be a champion in the race to loose the fat, flab and extra pounds!

Dr. Ian Smith has created a good fitness tread. He has shown that you don't have to gimmick your way to a healthy body.
