Katie:

Hi, I'm Katie, I have struggled with my weight for my whole life. I believe I was thin in my youth, but had issues with my mom who always told me I was too heavy. At 42 I weighed 278 and am 5'5". I had gastric bypass surgery in 2002 because I no longer could walk without pain and couldn't breathe at night. I was very successful, I began walking, then running, I weighed 158#s, ran 5 days a week and raced. It gave me such great self esteem, I took a new position in my hometown. That move changed me, I was stressed and I eat when I am that way. I cannot eat much at a sitting but I can eat constantly and make the wrong choices, which I have. It is now 4yrs since I moved and I weigh 218. Yup, 60lbs in 4 years.I saw the challenge on tv and I am ready to take my life back. GOD will stand by me and I have a husband who has never ever said one thing about my weight, He married me fat. Thank GOD for this challenge and Dr. Ian. I ask for prayers and I can tell just by reading this blog that there are many wonderful people to support me on my journey. Thank you!I can do it, I WILL do it!!! Blessings to you all, and thanks for listening.

Wow Veronica, that is some story. I could only say that you have to lose the weight to make you happy and of course healthy. I feel that If you love someone you will love them regardless of how big or small a person is. There should be encouragement, not rejection. I think the only thing that you can do to make yourself feel better about yourself is to have a positive attitude and concentrate on you and how you want to lose the weight for you. You cant make a person love you...love is something that is automatic no matter how the other person has changed. Food is not the answer to your problems, try working out or taking a walk. That relieves lots of stress and kinda take you to a comfortable place. Meditation I find is helpful. I had my last child about three years ago and I have been slacking when it comes to exercise and diet. I went up to 211 pounds and had no motivation to take it off, until I saw my wedding pictures two weeks ago. I thought I looked horrible and my husband told me I was beautiful the whole time. I loved him for that, but I felt that I had to lose the weight for me. I became focused and determined and two weeks later I am 8 pounds down and counting. I feel great! I was 211 pounds now I am 203 and counting! Be confident! Be Aggressive! Educate yourself! And most of all Love yourself, because if you don't know one else would. And as for your hubby, tell him you need the love and support you deserve...Peace

Lady D:

Hello Veronica,
I can really relate to what you are saying. I was once in your shoes, and it took me a long time to realize, that if I didn't love myself then how could I expect love from someone else. First my dear, you have to start looking yourself in the face and telling Veronica that you love her. You have 3 beautiful children that are depending on you, and you don't want to see them go through what you are going through. So my dear pick yourself up and go to that mirror and say with conviction " I am a woman of God, I am beautiful and I love myself." My prayers are with you and your family.

Uvonna Taylor:

Hello,
I have been losing pounds slowly. At my job 2 coworkers joined a Walk for Freedom group founded by a faculty member and formed an exercise group for our department linked to state-wide freedom walk 6/27/09. I did join the exercise group which helped me lose the a few more pounds. Currently, we are continuing the exercise twice a week at lunch time. We now have about 10 members in our department.

50millionpounds is the first web based weight loss organization that I have joined and proud to be a part of it. I joined via the TJMS web site.

Firts and most importantly you must love yourself. You have to want this for yourself and not to please anyone. Ask God for gudiance and strength for we can do all things through GOD because he strengthens us. Take one day at a time. I too struggle with my weight. I was where you are now and I am now 225. When your husband begins to start an arugement take a walk with your favorite music on I listen to gospel and let this minister to my spirit and soul. I know it is hard but don't give into what he is attemping to do by bringing you down. You are a beautiful person. You are not in this alone. God is always there for us and we must reach out to HIM. Trust and have faith in God to bring you through this. You are in my prayers. God bless you and remember that this to shall pass. Stay strong

J. Shawn Young:

Hi Veronica,
So many of us have weight issues tied to our emotional state, so I suggest to you that your HUSBAND being unkind to you is a major reason (I am a man, so not a hater). He needs to get on board and unconditionally love you or hit the road--tell him how you feel. If he loves you, he will listen and adjust his attitude. If not, then don't ALLOW him to be a reason to punish yourself any longer! Life is way too short as it is, you now have a plan to help with your weight...just implement it by taking DAILY action (talking to myself on this point as well to stay on point).

Much Success,
Shawn

veronica solis:

Hello my name is veronica and my weight is at 243 pounds. I have tired to lose the weight and I have no success. I lose 10 pounds and I put it right back on. In my life I have 3 wonderful children and a husband. Most of the time my husband is not kind to me. He rejects me and even starts an arguement just so he dont have to be around me. I still love my husband and miss the way that he used to treat me. I turn to food because it makes me feel good and I love the way it tastes. But still everyday I am hurting inside I want to feel better about myself and I want to love myself again. I hope that someone reads this and has some words of encouragement to share, because right now I feel that I need it. email me at ronniecakes1@yahoo.com
