I began my journey to a healthier lifestyle in October 2007. First, I quit smoking. Quickly my weight soared to an all-time high, reaching almost 300 lbs. I was not even looking at myself in the mirror and I felt awful. I decided that I wanted the weight off. About 7 months later, which was April of 2008. I slowly cut certain things (i.e. coffee, juices, cakes, cookies, and fried food, etc.) out of my diet. All the while, I began walking the track at a near by high school. Then, I began to jog. Every time I felt a little stronger I would increase my jog. I now run 4-5 miles everyday. I eat 6 times per day. I drink water all day. I have followed Dr. Ian's meal plan some weeks and tried to just replicate the eating style of the meal plan into my everyday eating. I have now lost 84 lbs. and I have added weight training into my daily routine so that I tone up.

I just signed up today and I'm sure like most first time member's am very nervous about this journey. Not nervous about the program or challenge, because I actually like a good challenge. I'm more nervous about keeping myself motivated to stick with it, but as I see results on a weekly basis, I'm confident that this will be my motivation to continue and adopt this healthy lifestyle that is so needed. Wish me luck!

I too recently quit smoking. It has been three months and I have already gained 20 pounds. My mood had gone downhill with my energy and weight. I want to start smoking again just to be happier and to take the place of the food cravings. I would rather be happy and smoking than fat and depressed and a non-smoker. How do you get over that hurdle to motivate yourself to get active? I am gaining weight faster than I can buy bigger clothes to wear. It is effecting my marriage which is also only three months old! I used to enjoy life, now I hardly leave my house except to go to work. Any motivational tips would be appreciated!

I am happy for you.
I have lost 6 #s in 3 weeks & feel encouraged, but these same meals are getting boring. I would like to be able to have some types of casseroles & chocolate & a few other things once in awhile. Does the meal plan get more of a variety after 1 month? I also go to the walking track and pool 4x a week

OH I LOVE MY PEPSI SO MUCH, BUT I LOVE MYSELF WAY MORE! I know I can do it, I know I can. You are a wonderful inspiration. Thanks for sharing your story!

Great job Heather! I can use motivators like you! How many hours did you give between each meal/snack. I am on week 2 and I've had a steady energy level and have never really been hungry on the diet, except when I get back from the gym! I have about 80lbs to go and so far have lost about 11 lbs. Good luck to your new life, and God Bless. Kimberly, if you can see this as an opportunity to set yourself at a new life--USE THAT!! I have been big my whole life, and I am 29 and I had a mild stroke about a year and a half ago. I just decided that I wasn't going to cheat myself anymore out of any life that is given to me. A healthy, more beneficial life is there waiting for you to take it, and take it and run, girl!!!

Today is my 3rd day into the 30 Meal Plan, but I actually began last week with the 4 day Plan and from that detox I lost 2 lbs. I have started working out at least 3 times a week and so far I have lost 3 lbs. over all. I am very excited! My husband and I are doing this together and so far he has lost a total of 6 lbs. We are planning to continuing to see how far this will take us.

I'm so happy for you Heather. I wish you the best for the rest of your journey. I'm going to share your story with my husband. He was laid off for over 1yr now, and he has gained so much weight till he was at 312lbs. He lost a few pounds when he got sick and now he weighs 302lbs. I need him to see what steps you took to make your life better for you and maybe this will motivate him as well to at least start a change in his life. Heather you keep the Faith and may God continue to bless you.

I am nervous. I am on my way. I starting today and I am so unsure of my self. so to reassure myself, I started with a prayer and walking with God and my day one of meals. Am I suppose to eat for times a day? My day 1 has four meal plans. Is there a time that I should eat these meals.
